Anonymous Call Rejection

This feature allows you to block incoming calls from telephone numbers who use per call or per line blocking activated.  Calls from these telephone numbers will receive a recording stating the party they are calling will not accept incoming calls marked as private on their caller ID box.  Calls not using blocking will ring normally.

To Activate:

  • Dial *77 (touch-tone phone) or Dial 1177 (rotary phone)

To Deactivate:

  • Dial *87 (touch-tone phone) or Dial 1187 (rotary phone)

To Activate:

  1. When the number you dial gives you a busy signal, hang up.
  2. Pick up receiver and listen for dial tone.
  3. Dial *66 (touch tone phone) or Dial 1166 (rotary phone)
  4. Hang up phone

  6. After picking up receiver, the call is completed.

To Deactivate (before 30 minute time period:)

  • Dial *86 (touch-tone phone) or Dial 1186 (rotary phone).

This feature is billed at $1.00 per month.

Call Forwarding

This feature allows you to have incoming calls to your phone number forwarded to another number when you plan to be away for an extended period of time.  When call forwarding is in effect, your telephone will ring once each time your number is dialed, but you will not be able to answer the call.

To activate:

  1. Dial *72 (touch-tone phones) or Dial 1172 (rotary dial phones)
  2. Listen for a dial tone.
  3. Dial the number you want your calls forwarded to.  If this number is long distance from your telephone, you must dial the 1 and the area code followed by the number.  (If this number is a long distance call, you will pay the toll charges for all forwarded calls.)
  4. Wait for 2 short tones. This indicates the number has been stored.

To deactivate:

  • Dial *73 (touch-tone phones) or Dial 1173 (rotary dial phones).
Two short tones will confirm this has been removed.

This feature is billed at $1.00 per month.

Call Waiting

This feature notifies you of an incoming call while you are already on a call.  You will hear a tone on the line indicating a new incoming call.  Simply press the hook switch (the buttons or hook the telephone receiver rests on) to put the original call on hold and answer the incoming call.  Press the hook switch again to reconnect you to the original call.  If you hear the call waiting tone and wish to end your call, simply hang up and your phone will then connect you with the new call.  If you wish to not answer the new call, the person calling will only hear your telephone ringing and not receive a busy signal tone.

This feature is billed at $1.00 per month.

Cancel Call Waiting

If you wish to temporarily turn off Call Waiting, simply dial *70 before you place a call.  The 2 short tones you hear after that confirm the feature is on your line.  When you have finished with that call, call waiting will be reactivated on the line.

This feature is helpful when you are connecting to the Internet on a line that has call waiting.  Your computer can be set to disable the Call Waiting service while you are using the Internet to prevent being disconnected when someone calls you.  While you are on the Internet, callers would hear a busy signal.  After you disconnect, the Call Waiting will be automatically reactivated once you disconnect.

This feature is provided free upon request to Call Waiting customers.

This feature is billed at $1.00 per month.

If you would like to sign up for the service, please fill in the web form and send your request. If you prefer, you may print this form and mail or fax it to our office.

Features descriptons:

Additional Mailboxes
You may add additional mailboxes to your account.  These work well for family members, roommates, or employees in a business.  Each mailbox has an individual access code and can forward to a separate e-mail address if you choose E-mail Forwarding.

Allow Dial Out
This feature allows people calling you to dial ‘0’ and transfer the call to your toll-free (800, 888, etc…) number.  This works well if you want to allow people to easily call your cell phone when you are away.

Associated Numbers
This option allows multiple phone numbers to share one voice mailbox.

Auto Login
This feature allows easy access to your mailbox when you are calling from your primary line. This is ideal for people who are not concerned about others accessing the mailbox from that line.  This can be turned on and off as desired.

Daily Notification
This feature allows you to set a time each day that the Voice Mail System should ring your phone to indicate you have new messages waiting to be retrieved.

Distribution Lists
This feature allows you to create groups containing different lists of mailboxes.

Example: If you must often send messages to a group of people or a department within a business, you could create a list containing the voice mail boxes of these people and simply send a voice memo to the Distribution List, sending a copy to each person on the list.

E-Forward
This feature forwards a copy of voice mail messages to an email address you provide and also leaves a copy in the voice mail system which you may retrieve through the call-in methods.  Voice mail messages may be deleted through the email notifications.

E-mail Only
T
his feature forwards your voice messages to E-mail and does not save them in your voice mailbox. This is useful for those that are concerned with their mailbox exceeding their capacity limit or they would rather manage their voice messages through e-mail only.

Memo
This feature allows you to send memo messages to mailboxes of other Runestone Voice Mail Customers or Distribution lists. The memos are sent directly to the mailboxes without ringing the recipient’s phone.

Message Forwarding
This feature allows you to forward a message to another mailbox or a distribution list. You can also attach your own message to the message you are forwarding.

Message Length
An allowed message length is defined by the plan you choose.  You may add additional recording time if you pick either Voice Mail Plus or Deluxe.

Pager or Phone Notification
Great for people on the go. A reminder page or call alerts you when a new message is left for you.  Notifications can only be sent to toll-free (800, 888, etc…) numbers.

Visual Message Waiting Indication
This feature activates a message light on certain phones when there are new messages in the mailbox.
